There are various options for a pleasant outing or a sporting activity. It’s fun to explore the surrounding villages by bike. You can also enjoy a peaceful walk over the Lochemse Berg or along the Berkel. For enthusiasts, there is also an 18-hole golf course in the area.

For MTB Enthusiasts

The MTB route “Lochemse Berg” is only 200 meters from our farm. With challenging climbs and long descents, this singletrack route is very popular among mountain bikers.
Additionally, the MTB route “Grote Veld,” which connects to the Lochemse Berg, is highly recommended.

For gravel bike lovers, there are also beautiful gravel routes in the area, allowing you to explore the diverse landscape actively.

For Hikers

Starting from our farm, you have several beautiful hiking options. You can walk along the Berkel towards Lochem or towards Estate De Heest. You can also cross the Lochemse Berg in the direction of the village Barchem. There are several sights to see, such as the village of Zwiep, De Cloese Castle, the Belvedere observation tower, or the Witte Wievenkoele.

By bike, you can explore literally all directions. Our farm is located directly on the cycling junctions, making it easy to plan your own route. Discover the many small nearby villages and the varied Achterhoek landscape with forested paths, gentle hills, and wide meadows.

Cooling Off on Warm Summer Days

Nearby, there are several swimming pools, such as:

It’s also possible to canoe or stand-up paddle along the Berkel.

Tip

Near the bridge close to De Cloese Castle, you’ll find a small bathing area for a refreshing dip in the Berkel.

For Families

For families with young children, Restaurant and Playground De Witte Wieven and the Pancake Farm Erve Brooks are highly recommended. Both have large outdoor playgrounds where children can enjoy a few hours of fun.

In the Heikamp in the Ruurlo forest, there is a huge maze and a challenging climbing forest.

Special Excursions

• Take a ride on the Berkelzomp along the Berkel River. The flat-bottomed boat is a replica of the Zomp boats that were used for centuries for trade between Zutphen and the German town of Vreden. Website
